* Wow, so much has been going on over the past few months, I’m sorry I haven’t written much. I added several entries today,so if you’re interested you can read a few new things on the diary front page and beyond.

* My career is looking up these days! Our film, “Casting Pearls” has been picked up for distribution by Frameline, a wonderful group that has been working with GLBT film for many years. A distributor is sort of like an agent for a film: they get your film out there, enter it into festivals, get it seen by people and coordinate its exposure in theaters, educational settings and on television. A lot of short films never get distribution at all, and very few get a distributor before they even premiere at a festival, so we were quite excited to hear from Frameline.

* The next good news was that the film got into OutFest and The Frameline31 San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival! The main reason to create a movie, of course, is the desire to express something with art. But also, the reason to make a short film is not to make money or become famous‚ÄîOne makes a short film as a sort of calling card to show people what they’re capable of. So we’ll be taking the movie to the various film festivals and showing it with the hope that other artists will like what they see and want to work with us, as actors, producers, writers, directors, etc. Film festivals are a great place to meet other artists, become inspired by their work and make connections that blossom into working relationships and collaborations down the line.

* Outside of “Casting Pearls”, I’ve been taking meetings and auditioning for some exciting upcoming television projects. It can be frustrating when I’m excited about things and can’t give any details, but as soon as things get to a more definite point and I get the word, I will tell everything I can. This could be a very interesting summer indeed!
