BAD QUESTIONS

ZOMG, get a “Bad Questions” T-shirt and help support Deep Stealth’s mission to continue providing free web and media content for the GLBT community! What is “Bad Questions”? “Bad Question to Ask a Transsexual” is the YouTube video with 1.4 MILLION views and counting that tells people exactly how much of an IDIOT they are when they ask trans people questions like “What was your old name?” or “Are you a man or a woman?” Wear your BAD QUESTIONS, AN-ES-THESIA or SMUG BITCH t-shirt or button with pride and tell all DUM DUMs to STFU.

Jahna Steele was a world-famous Vegas showgirl who passed away a few years ago, before I had the chance to meet her in person. This is an old video, but I came across it again today and had to post it. This woman says everything I’ve wanted to say over the last few years about transition, living comfortably with one’s past, and demanding respect. She was an entertainer, not afraid of a little makeup and sequins, undeniably female, and a true inspiration.

Thanks to Christine Glamazon for posting the video!

Epic Glam: See Calpernia LIVE tonight at Cinespace!

Rachel Goldberg is one of eight female finalists selected to participate in AFI’s “Directing Workshop for Women.” Her upcoming film, “Neighbors,” explores transgender issues, domestic violence and sexuality.  In Goldberg’s honor, and to support the film, “Show & Tell: Epic Glam,” a fundraiser, will be held  Thursday, June 3rd at Cinespace in Hollywood.

The fundraiser’s hostess is the glamorous Candis Cayne, and the evening’s entertainment promises performances by some of L.A.’s best-known transgender artists, drag queens, kings and otherwise fabulous people. Slated to appear are Calpernia Addams, Detox, Rhea Litre’, Mercedez Elektra, Shangela, Allusia, Miss Conception, Kelly Mantle, Countre Black, Chacha Cache, Jonah Blechman, DJ Nelstar, the Trixies, DJ Heavy Selective and also Xander Smith of Run Run Run will be performing with his band.

“Show & Tell: Epic Glam” will be a one-night-only epic celebration.
Music is a unifying medium, and it is the hope of the producers and everyone involved with the benefit, as well as the film maker that this project will encourage people to be more open-minded and appreciate the journey of self-discovery within every one of us.
