OMG, I got to meet George Takei (Star Trek’s “Mr. Sulu”) yesterday and discuss our work and the whole trans actress thing! Andrea and I participated in the KPFK Winter Pledge Drive to help the station raise money, and George was celebrity co-host of our segment. He was incredibly nice and professional, and what a voice! So resonant and deep!

Calpernia coached actress Felicity Huffman, in her Academy-Award nominated performance as a transgender woman in the film Transamerica (2005)-which calpernia was also featured.
Additionally, Calpernia performed alongside Jane Fonda, Glenn Close, Salma Hayek, Alicia Keys, & others in a production of The Vagina Monologues
Open Artists With Open Arms is a project which supports LifeWorks. LifeWorks provides LGBTQ Youth ages 12-24 with a safe space, and positive role models to help realize their goals.
