* My fitting at Deadwood went just fine today. The set is on a ranch way out in the boonies of Los Angeles, but it was a perfect day for driving and I made it in no time at all. My swollen and bandaged mug elicited some oohs and ahhs of sympathy from everyone, but then it was right to work trying on various frontier garments to establish a wardrobe for my character. I ended up with a nice set of bloomers and camisole under a pretty, lacey petticoat, all cinced together by a very tight corset. They also gave me real stockings (non-elastic) with real garters to hold them up. All the clothes are authentic to the time period, which means no zippers, elastic, or synthetic fabrics. They took some photos, I did a quick run through at the makeup trailer (they wanted snaps of my black eyes to use as makeup reference photos for the show! Ha ha) and then I was done.
* All in all, a simple way to spend the morning. I got back into Hollywood just in time to zip over to acting class, for which I felt much better this time. Busy busy!
