Hey kids, you may remember that Andrea and I did a small turn as

in a short film written and directed by Edward Gunawan called “Laundromat”. You really only see us coming in at the beginning, doing laundry, and then again at the film’s explosive climax. I embedded the MySpace Lo-Quality trailer below, and you can click this link for the high quality “Laundromat” trailer.

Advocate 40th Anniversary Party & My Audition Callback
Here’s the outfit I wore to the Advocate Party last night.
And here’s a photo of me with the ever-hot Reichen and his boyfriend Ryan Barry (photo by JD - Check out her hot blog!)
I’m “VERY Charismatic” !!! =)
There’s a very kind review of “Casting Pearls” in Karman Kregloe’s After Ellen blog:
Casting Pearls by Andrea James was about the misadventures of a transsexual actress (played by the very charismatic Calpernia Addams) who can’t get a break.
Yay!
I just watched an old favorite of mine last night, the Doris Day movie “Please Don’t Eat the Daisies”, which I hadn’t seen since I was a child. I mostly remembered a funny white St. Bernard dog jumping on people, but watching it as an adult, I realized that it’s about a theatre critic and his wife overcoming the friction caused by his ascending career and increasing poison pen. I’m glad I haven’t had to suffer much in the way of criticism so far. I’m sure it will come, as I’m still learning so much as far as film/tv is concerned. As long as it’s tempered by some good, I suppose I’ll deal with it all as it comes!

Rockstar Parking at William Morris
OMG, today I had a meeting at William Morris and the GPS on my phone could not find it to save its life! The little lady-voice coming from inside my phone was saying, “TURN RIGHT AT THE NEXT INTERSECTION! MAKE A LEGAL U-TURN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! TURN AROUND! TURN AROUND!” but I knew that I was going the correct way down Wilshire so I switched her off and continued onward. I ended up finding it pretty effortlessly, thanks to looking it up on Google Maps earlier, but I was running the edge of being right on time so I was a little worried. Lo and behold, there was a parking spot right in front of the front door! BAM! All mine!!
I zipped inside after a quick hair-check and gave my name to the front desk lady. I had to say it three times and then spell it, but I’m very forgiving in light of the fact that the last time my name was in common use was probably only among Civil War women living in Tennessee. As I approached the sitting area in the lobby, two wheeler-dealer types waiting there sat upright and one said, “You are gorgeous!” I was all “Thank you, darlin’!” and that led into a “where are you from?” discussion. Once I had told him a little about why I was there, he asked if I dated girls! Actually, it was a logical question considering what little I had told him about my “secret project”, but rather than clarify for this stranger I decided to head off his obvious flirtation by saying “yes” I was a strict and complete lesbian. HA! As everyone knows, I’m completely man-crazy, but I sometimes find it convenient to let dudes think I’m not into men at all so that they leave me alone. Also, I admit that sometimes I miss feeling like part of the gay community, so it’s fun to pretend to be a lesbian (as long as I don’t have to kiss any girls ha ha). I know that, technically, there is a “T” on the end of GLBT, but let’s be honest… once I transitioned to the str8 girl that I am, the Gayz haven’t really figured out what to do with me and the str8s only act normal if they don’t know. Oh well, to quote the Simpsons: “I regret nothinggggg!”
Eventually a hot young assistant in a suit came down to retrieve me. Ahh, LA is full of hot young assistants… Anyway, he took me up the elevator and I met the sweet agent who has been helping me. Later, the assistant brought me some black coffee in a William Morris paper cup, and I’m geeked to say that I kept it, ha ha. I had a great meeting and then it was back to the Deep Stealth Mansion to work on publicity for “Casting Pearls”. Yay!
