Ok, so somehow a lot of the cheering didn’t come through on this recording… it might have been near a speaker or something, so alot of the ambient noise got filtered out (yeah, that’s it! Ha ha) And yes, my butt looks a LOT less appealing in this video (shot from way below) that it looked in the photos shot from the side. But wow, I had a great time, and the crowd really warmed up toward the end, and on into my second song ("I Look Good").

“The Pageant Soup Podcast Show” is the nation’s only gay pageant podcast show.  This week, the show will focus on my career as an actress, my activism for the LGBTQ community, my new single ”Stunning” and what the future holds in store for me. They have a live call in and chat show, so there is a possibility that fans can call in with questions and/or chat questions. 

Now I know some of you kids out there wonder why I do so much “gay” stuff… Although I am a woman who dates men, I was sort of an abandoned baby left of the doorstep of the gay community, who raised me and helped me become the person I am today, when the straight community was very sparse in its support. I can never forget my loving “aunts” and “uncles” and “brothers” and “sisters” in the community! I’m like Marilyn on the Munsters, I may seem different but I fit right in when it comes down to the nitty gritty!

Once again, Calpernia will be hosting a night of decadence and underground fun at Miss Kitty’s Parlour on Friday night, January 11th & 18th.

Scantily clad male and female go-go dancers in leather masks writhe to new wave, industrial and electroclash while the packed crowd shows off their couture creations (a hedonistic Heidi and a naughty Raggedy Ann are recent apparitions). The Grande Dame of the party, Miss Kitty, brings lurid fantasies to life with weekly stage shows, which have featured female mud wrestling, kinky circus acts and a surprise striptease by Marilyn Manson’s fiancee Dita Von Teese…

Well, kids, I’m going to be the guest host at Miss Kitty’s Parlour on Friday night, and next Friday too! Miss Kitty’s was one of the first clubs I found when I moved to Los Angeles about five years ago that really had the “freak show” meets “carnival of lost souls” vibe that I love so much. It has a very well-mixed straight and gay clientèle, hoppin music and wild shows, plus some crazy contests where you can win free drinks, gifts from “The Pleasure Chest” or other varying prizes.

I’ve been in several cabaret, burlesque and theatrical shows with “The Filthy Family”, as the crew there is known (including my turn as the Queen of Diamonds), but this will be my first hosting gig. Let’s hope this becomes a regular thing, because I love that kind of thing. Any excuse to get on stage, ha ha!

Nashville Scene article on the closing of The Connection
This article is from awhile ago, I remember being interviewed for it via phone, but it only just came to my attention recently. The Connection was an amazing place to work, and to evolve… I started going back when it was at 5th and Demonbreun, and it was there that I saw my very first showgirls and realized that I could maybe someday become the person I wanted so much to be. On my first visits, I became transfixed by a weekend-cast showgirl named Mahogany who performed songs by Grace Jones and Annie Lennox, and befriended a tiny Wednesday-cast showgirl named Latarsha who operated the spotlight for the weekend show.
