Hey kids, tune in to me being interviewed by Jack E. Jett at 12:06pm PT (2:06pm CST). Jack is a really cool, fun guy who had me on his show “Queer Edge” a few years ago.
Busy day! There is a nice two page spread on my in the October 2008 edition of “Psychology Today” magazine! Yay, thank you! I also received a special gift from Syntaur and got photographed by the paparazzi with Jason Dottley of “Sordid Lives” in West Hollywood.
Hi Kids! Please get the most recent issue of “The Advocate” magazine, in which they gather a number of people from the GLBT community and talk about body image accompanied by gorgeous naked photos by celebrated photographer Eric Schwabel. This is probably one of the most intimate and personal interviews I’ve done since the “Soldier’s Girl” days, but I felt like the topic of body image is an important one. These issues have driven the course of my life, as they do for so many, and we all felt it was important to discuss them.
I had to great fortune to be interviewed by PFLAG‘s Steve Ralls for Ambiente magazine this month, and they gave me the cover! Please check it out, and leave a comment if you like the article and the coverage of trans issues they’re providing. =)
Calpernia Addams’ very first love story may have been with a fiddle.
“I started my entertainment career playing Bluegrass gospel fiddle in church with my family as a child,” she recently told Ambiente, “which gave me my first taste of being onstage. I’ve never looked back since then, progressing to almost ten years in professional theatre before moving to Hollywood to explore film and television.”
I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Carlos Santoscoy of “On Top Magazine” the other day, on the subject of my work with PFLAG and everything else going on in my life right now. He was very kind to take time out from a dinner to talk to me, due to my grueling work and rehearsal schedule these days. I’m still struggling to get to the point where the almost decade-old tragedy of Barry’s murder is not the first and most prominent thing people mention when talking about me… no matter how I seem to say things in interviews, or how much I talk about the present vs. the past, it still remains a topic of prevailing interest for writers. I suppose I’ll just have to continue doing the work that I do, and hope that some day people will look more at my current work than at something which happened so long ago, and which is so painful still for me to relive, again and again.
