I never blog things like this, but this baby is teh cute-ah!

imageSeveral months ago, long before my notorious ”Bad Questions” video, I was contacted by popular “How To” website VideoJug to appear and speak as an expert on transsexualism. Basically, I gave my own answers to their (long) list of basic “people who don’t know anything about the topic” questions. Sort of a ”GOOD questions” video, ha ha.

I’m no scientist, but I answered their questions as best as I could. Some answers could have been a little better, but it was a long, grueling session lasting several hours, where I answered question after question non-stop. For all the hatahs who thought I was an evil bitch for chewing out askers of ”Bad Questions”, here’s the real me, and how I really answer honestly asked, respectful questions. Let me know what you think!

Calpernia Appearing at Las Vegas Pride

Categories: Diary • Live and In Person

Hey kids, I’m going to be appearing at Las Vegas’ Pride celebration over May 2nd & 3rd, 2008. Anyone in the Vegas area or from elsewhere going to be there? I’m supposed to be riding in a red convertible, hopefully blasting ”Stunning”, ha ha! I know I’m stunned!

So I thought I had found out something titillating when I recognized my home-away-from-home was the set of ”America’s Prom Queen”:

Yes, that p R O m queen, not p O R n queen.

But the cake has been taken by Andrea’s blog revelation that our little mansion was used in the must-see gem ”Cougar Club”, starring Faye Dunaway and Joanie Laurer! As both a “cougar” and a Faye Dunaway fan, I didn’t know what to be more excited about! I will be posting a writeup of “Cougar Club” as soon as I’ve watched it.

I have to think that at this point, Faye Dunaway is just having fun with life.

Probably the best I’ve ever looked in my life. Thank you, television!
Well well… like a kid with a book report due, I’ve put off writing this episode recap for quite some time now. I blame most of it on the fact that I exhaust easily, so I’ve needed a lot of time to recover from the back-to-back Ohio, London and New Orleans trips.

From a phone call received while walking in the bright Summer sun of 2007 to the emotional roller coaster of shooting in that Fall, to the fun of airing it on Logo in early 2008, here we are, the season finale of Transamerican Love Story! Click “Read More” below for the full writeup with LOTS of pix, thanks to my iTunes subscription to Transamerican Love Story!

OMG, you know how sometimes in movies, they reference a movie within the movie - usually a character walks by a theater or flips through cable channels and you see a brief jokey/parody reference to some popular film? Well, there is actually a movie studio called The Asylum that makes real, serious knockoffs of current films like that! They sound so ridiculously obviously derivative, and have 80’s stars like Michael Gross from Family Ties… delicious, if you’re a “bad movie” fan like me. Check this out, do any of these look familiar? Here are some of the most egregiously ripped off sounding:

Allan Quartermain and the Temple of Skulls - Appears to be blatant knockoff of the upcoming “Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull”
The DaVinci Treasure - The DaVinci Code
Monster - More “Charlene Theron” than “Charlize Theron”, this looks like a knockoff of “Cloverfield”
I am Omega - Appears to knock off Will Smith vehicle “I am Legend”
Transmorphers - More than meets the eye!
Snakes on a Train - OMG no they didn’t!

I was enjoying laughing at this until I saw that Maureen McCormick is in one. That makes me sad! Aww…

So, after a week of trying to get this video to upload to YouTube (it kept timing out), it has finally made it up! This is some footage of Leslie and me settling into our hotel room, running around town and rehearsing for our monologue. Then I added in some clips from a few other YouTube people who had uploaded video from that night, and some photos.

To my great and lasting heartbreak, I somehow lost my digital camera as I was returning to Los Angeles from New Orleans. On it were many photos of me with the various women in the play, including Jane Fonda, Rosario Dawson, Doris Roberts, Didi Conn, Kristina Krepela, Amber Tamblyn, Ali Larter and of course Eve Ensler. All of the photos are irreplaceable, so this loss will haunt me for some time to come. But thankfully, the most important part was that I got to experience the event, and I will never lose the memories.
