I recorded this on March 7th, 2008, I had a little bit of a cold, but WHAT A BLAST!

I had the privilege of participating in the PSA, which will air on Logo and possibly all of MTV’s channels (MTV, VH1, etc).

Logo has just released a PSA tied to the death of Lawrence King, the 15-year-old who was killed by a classmate because he was feminine and had called himself gay.

The PSA urges people to speak up if they see discrimination happening, and reminds us that none of us are safe until all of us are safe.

It features Calpernia Addams (Logo’s Transamerican Love Story), Andre 3000 (OutKast), R&B artist Ashanti, singer/songwriter Sarah Bareilles, actress Portia de Rossi (Arrested Development, Nip/Tuck), international performer Estelle, singer/actress Janet Jackson, actor T.R. Knight (Grey’s Anatomy), R&B artist Little Sister, actor Darryl Stephens (Logo’s Noah’s Arc) and singer/songwriter Taylor Swift.

Now I know some of you kids out there wonder why I do so much “gay” stuff… Although I am a woman who dates men, I was sort of an abandoned baby left of the doorstep of the gay community, who raised me and helped me become the person I am today, when the straight community was very sparse in its support. I can never forget my loving “aunts” and “uncles” and “brothers” and “sisters” in the community! I’m like Marilyn on the Munsters, I may seem different but I fit right in when it comes down to the nitty gritty!

Today was a busy day. I got up early to do a segment with Doria Biddle on The Frank DeCaro Show for Sirius Radio. Doria and Frank are awesome, and have had Andrea and me on for most every big project we’ve done. Today I rushed over with only two minutes to spare to find parking, and of course I couldn’t find any. I thought a blood vessel was going to burst in my eye, I was so frustrated trying to get settled and out of my car in time to make the show. Luckily, everything worked out and we had a great interview.

Next, it was off to Santa Monica and the offices of MTV. I shot a Public Service Announcement for Logo with T.R. Knight, Portia DeRossi and others in support of Lawrence King, the young boy who was shot and killed by a classmate due to anti-gay sentiment. I got to say hello to TR as he was leaving, but didn’t get to meet Portia. The PSA encourages tolerance for people’s differences and encourages people to step in if they see harassment.

Then, later I got together with Alec, his husband Jamie, and my friend Sarah to watch Episode 4 of “Transamerican Love Story”. OMG! More to come on that…
