Hey kids, I’m going to try to start spotlighting up-and-coming trans artists in acting, music, dance and fine arts on a somewhat regular basis here. I’m starting with Foxx Jazell, trans rapper, because I’ve spoken with her via email recently, and I have a few others lined up, but feel free to write in suggestions under these conditions:
1. I already get so much email that it is an overwhelming source of stress for me. I’d love it if I didn’t have to reply to all the suggestions, though you can be sure I’ll read them all. If I am able to reply, I will probably only be able to send a single reply and not begin a correspondence. =)
2. I will read your suggestions, but I will only add people based on my available personal time (which is minuscule) and my completely biased, unfair whims. If the first YouTube video of theirs that I click on is a rant about how much they love crossdressing as the mom from Berenstein Bears, then I’ll be turned off and won’t add them to my little list, no matter how cool they might have become in later videos, ha ha. If the first song I hear is all about “You betta turn dem tricks and make that dough, ya gotta buy buy buy that co- co- co-… caine” then I’ll either love it or hate it, and go from there. (That’s a pretty funny lyric, I may use that myself… ha ha)
