I wanted to send a special thank you out to Richard Bowman, the fabulous Beverly Hills designer who created the stunning black gown I wore to the 2008 GLAAD Media Awards. He wrote to me personally and offered to outfit me for the event. I went to his shop on Beverly Blvd and had a GREAT time trying on lots of custom-made gowns until we all settled on this black number. THANK YOU Richard!

Well well… like a kid with a book report due, I’ve put off writing this episode recap for quite some time now. I blame most of it on the fact that I exhaust easily, so I’ve needed a lot of time to recover from the back-to-back Ohio, London and New Orleans trips.

Jezebel.Com’s nice mention of me at the Vagina Monologues’ 10th Anniversary Performance

The celebrities added an interesting flavor and there were some new monologues that had been introduced since the last time I did the show. After watching the touching monologue “They Beat the Girl Out of My Boy” in homage of the transgender experience, I had to Google one of the performers, Calpernia Addams, and I have found my new favorite time-killing video channel.

I just watched an old favorite of mine last night, the Doris Day movie “Please Don’t Eat the Daisies”, which I hadn’t seen since I was a child. I mostly remembered a funny white St. Bernard dog jumping on people, but watching it as an adult, I realized that it’s about a theatre critic and his wife overcoming the friction caused by his ascending career and increasing poison pen. I’m glad I haven’t had to suffer much in the way of criticism so far. I’m sure it will come, as I’m still learning so much as far as film/tv is concerned. As long as it’s tempered by some good, I suppose I’ll deal with it all as it comes!
