Lady Marmelade
December 3rd, 2006
* I’m finally getting together some of the old video I have from my showgirl days. Here’s a clip of the cast of the Connection in Nashville performing Lady Marmelade. I apologize for the shaky camera work, and the wildly flashing lights caused the autofocus of the camera to go crazy at times. Also, way back then I asked the camera-woman to focus on me so that I could critique my own act, so you miss some of the front-and-center action.
* I’m the one with curly brown hair in a white and black corset…
* But such as it is, here it is!

WORK.
You would not believe the smile that I got on my face when i saw this video. I lived in nashville for 5 years and actually saw you perform this show. i frequented the connection and you and regine phillips were my girls. you 2 were the only reason i went. i just found calpernia.com and i had no idea who you really were. i just knew that twice a night i could see you ladies perform and have a great time. i am truely inspired by everything that i have read on calpernia.com and i hope that you are having the time of your life. i hope that your life has progressed from what was and made into what is. life is a journey with many many hills. i wish you the best and truely believe that i am truely inspired from the nashville showgirl that i saw perform for years and knew nothing about.. cheers to you

Calpernia, I saw Soldier’s girl movie, and I promise, it had taken my heart. I’m not gay, really not, but…after watching I couldn’s sleep. I had to thing, very much, about you and Barry. I was seeing this film and was really upset during it. And the worst thing about it was, that was based on true story…poor Barry. He was just normal guy, you are normal women, it was(yes, I have to admit)not quite perfect love, but it was love. Barry didn’t your body, which is very good despite your”problems with hormons”, he wanted your heart. At the end I was crying a litle bit. I realize, that it had not have happend at all. Even now I must still thinking about it…
Love your performances, all of them. My wife and I saw the Soldiers Girl story and we were in Louisville when we saw it and in a very long way from home at that but we both were shaken. You were grrrrreat in the clip, hope you may post more, Loy loved the steps you were doing. Very nice timming. Keep up the good works.

* Thanks, y’all! I do appreciate the kind words, and the remembrances from the Nashville people, too. I had such fun working at that club, in between all the little annoying moments, ha ha. The most important thing was the people I met there, and I’ll always be thankful for that!
omg! Anthony and Michael too…
That was when Brent was doing lights…
Awww, these movies really take me back.
Miss you girl!
