It’s beautiful. Love the wheels (I’m pretty sure they are new aftermarket ). Give yourself a little time to get the balance. You lean with the bike in turns . I rode on a 750-4 Honda (thats four cylinders and really heavy , hard to pick up if it falls over) . An amazing amount of fun.
The only thing you need to be aware of is that motorists driving cars don’t seem to recognize bikes as vehicles so it’s important you anticipate the crazy things they do around them and you will be fine . And not only are they better for the environment they are wickedly fast. The horsepower to weight is amazing. The Stealth Cycle , I’m impressed.

Actually the wheels look like the ones I had on mine (an ’80 650), so they are probably stock. They’re good, solid bikes, like Triumphs that don’t leak as badly…
If you are going to ride anywhere, Southern Cali is probably the best place. People there actually notice bikes, sometimes.
I wish you lots of luck with your new toy, and yes you will have to post pictures!

I’m sold by #3, you’ll look great as a biker chick (if that’s the right term). Sensible to get some training too.

Yup , they are stock wheels. I guess that is when they started introducing CNC milled wheels on bikes. They do look cool.

* Sorry about the weblink filtering on your link there Darlie… I had to turn it on to ward off a swarm of poker-bots who were filling the comments tables up with links to online poker sites.
* That photo is of a bike like mine (my camera wasn’t charged up when I was checking it out yesterday), but my exact bike is a 750, and I’ll have to post photos of it tonight. It’s a great size and weight, and it really fits my body well.
* Anyone know a good place to get bike leathers in LA?
Ebay is probably the best place to get really good used ones for little money Callie . New ones can cost a bit (handmade is like crazy $1,200 ) . Better yet Anneliese probably knows or maybe has something you could use to get started . The great thing is you are tall enough to balance the bike easily . A friend Denise rode for years till someone stole her bike.

LA Cycles, of course, they are the best on the left coast. Please wear the leathers and get a helmet, I wrecked on a road bike (bicycle) and if it were not for the helmet the guy who ran me down would have killed me, LIVE to Ride Ride to Live, even us cyclests out here love to ride but we take precautions.
Enjoy,

Tis good to see you got the gloves and jacket, they help in all situations. As I said, LIVE TO RIDE RIDE TO LIVE and enjoy yourself.

They look great Callie, it’s your best investment . Did you get the straight black or the blaster 2.0 ? Helmet to go and you are there . I prefer full face (I have a Bell) because you eat fewer bugs and such. You gotta take some pics when you get out driving in your leathers. You can get some cool boots cheap too.

Go on with your bad self! I can’t wait to see you in your gear. I think it is a great idea/investment and a fun way to meet guys too

OK, I got a little excited, I have only been recognised reciently by my wife Loy, and before her no one would even address something I had suggested with my name, so I got a little choked up. I neve look for any responses but it is good to be noticed, I know you will do good in the class, we will keep ya in our prayers while you ride. I myself ride too but now days its on a bicycle on the road and off road on a mtn bike. I am curently training for a century ride in May, wish me luck I will need it, we are going to MT Mitchel, Ride to Live Live to Ride

That’s too cool! I ride an ’82 Kawi, and it’s nice to see other women out there keeping bikes from that era alive. Good choice with the Joe Rocket gear. I’ve had a jacket and gloves from them for about 3 years, and I only have good things to say. If you ever need a cute dykey little mechanic…

Um I hate to say this but I get similar MPG from my VW passat (station wagon). Um actually maybe I don’t I fogot that US gallon and Uk gallon are diffrent. But the new Volkswagen lupo diesal definatly gets you better mpg than your bike!!
I typically get about 13miles to the litre so that 3.785 x 13 about 50mpg or about 250 miles per gallon. Mind you I’m curently paying about a $1.70 a litre, so that about $6.40 a gallon
but yes bike nice – You clearly enjoy riding it
best of luck

* Well I’m beginning to think you just like to burst my bubble, Kate! Ha ha. But mileage or not, I’m only paying about $14 a month in fuel costs, so I’m very happy about that. =)
