My Daughter, My Son
* I made a little dreamlike super-short from footage I took during my May 2006 visit back home to Nashville. I was thinking a lot about family, history and the path my life has taken. I don’t know that this will mean anything to anyone but me… Not that it matters to the viewer, but all of the locations in this mini-movie are from significant points in my life. =)

Combined with the original, longer cut’s 300,000 views the concept has 1,300,000+ views! Not bad for a transsexual topic. What really kicked it off was YouTube’s surprising decision to…

Preaching OUTSIDE the Choir
I get TONS of email… Metric tons. Thank God it’s not paper mail, or my correspondents would be responsible for the deforestation of a large chunk of rainforest. Most of it is routine work stuff, but there are lots of young trans and gay people looking for support and advice, and lots of people my…

Baby Loves Banjo Originally uploaded by Kamepyon Sigh… the best times in life are the simplest… My Dad played the banjo (all of our family played music) and the sound of Bluegrass was always at the edges of my childhood. Isn’t this video cute!?!

Thank you for sharing this “personal documentary” with us all, Calpernia. I cannot speak for everyone, but I know that there are times when I become so focussed on “the mud before my face” that I forget there is a bigger world out there, beyond me and my life, where other people live who might be furher ahead of me, or further behind me, on this road we travel. “My Daughter, My Son” reminded me to have that perspective.

Beautiful video!
It was great to meet you at Play, just before New Years. I was the older blond who came up to you, when you were talking to my friend Melissa. Thanks for the hug! That hug rates right up there with the one I got from Donna Rose, at last years SCC, and one I will never forget.
Hugs,
Vickie

* Thank y’all for the very kind words. I love that song, and it just seemed to fit the introspection about my life and family there. =)
