My First Mean Review! (Sort of)
Today I read a quick review of the OutFest showing of “Casting Pearls” from S’Up Ladies!! blog:
Anyhoo, Calpernia Addams brings every (transsexual or not) actors’ worst casting calls to a brilliant satirical lisp, I mean light, in ‘Casting Pearls’ (dir. Andrea James)
This means I’m really making it as an actrethhh! Maybe when people say I remind them of Drew Barrymore, they mean this one:

I actually do have a little bit of sibilance sometimes when speaking s’s, and the writer liked the film so I consider it a good review. I’d prefer people poke a little good natured fun here and there, it keeps me humble!

UPDATED: iPhone 4 First Impressions: VERY Mixed
(UPDATES BELOW) Ok, so as super-excited as I was (am) to get my new iPhone 4 a full day early, there are some big let downs across the board. First, I will say this: It is physically gorgeous, feels great in hand and software runs very, very quickly. And I am such an Apple fangirl…
El Chavo in Los Angeles – Changes for the Worse
I rarely write bad reviews of people, places or things. The only ones I can think of off the top of my head are my reviews of the horrendous customer service of the Rathbone Hotel in London and Christian Siriano. And I’ve been blogging for well over six years now. So obviously, I must have…
Calpernia’s New Years Eve 2008 Photos
New Year’s Eve 2008 at Miss Kitty’s was fabulous… I didn’t drink too much, and I even got a (somewhat dubious) kiss after midnight. All in all, another decent passage from one year to the next. I suppose November made six years for me in Hollywood, which is amazing. I just got done texting with…

Shooting “Not For You” in Memphis – The Recap
Wow, I just got back from a week in Memphis yesterday, where I was shooting the new short film “Not For You”, written/co-starring/directed by Brian Pera. It was quite an experience… the first time I’ve gone on an extended “on location” shoot that was more than a short drive from home. Brian wrote, directed and…

Book Review – The Mouse and His Child
So back in the mists of time, when I was a child, I read A LOTTT. I had few friends, and few traditional entertainments because of my restrictive religious upbringing. Luckily, I took well to reading and there were years when I read almost a book a week. I remember in particular reading while walking…

I like the way Calpernia speaks. She always sounds so sweet and gentle whenever she talks. I also love Calpernia’s southern accent!
