Hey everybody! OutFest has started here in LA! Well, it’s started as far as we’re concerned, because the first parties have begun. We’ve already been to a Pre-Pre-Outfest party now! I don’t normally name drop in my diary, but I’ll let myself go since OutFest is all about this kinda thing (oh and showing cutting edge GLBT cinema like our film “Casting Pearls”!)!

Last night we went to the √ºber-classy East/West Lounge in WeHo to celebrate “Shelter”, a cool film about young gay surfers that has been getting a lot of “buzz”. There were plenty of our good friends there, like Jonathan, Duncan Tucker (“Transamerica” director/writer), Wilson Cruz and many more.

Then it was across the street to “Eleven”, a new (to me) classy bar and restaurant owned and designed by none other that Sid Kroft!!! Yes, THE Sid Kroft of H. R. Puffinstuff fame! It is very elegant, though. There are no talking mushrooms, though I wouldn’t doubt that there were a few people wanting to get ahold of Jimmy’s “magic flute”.

This party was for the launch of LOGO‚Äòs new animated show Rick & Steve: The Happiest Gay Couple in the World. It’s sort of live-action plastic block people in a plastic block world Lego – but don’t use that word, it’s not licensed and the humor is very transgressive… ie: politically incorrect, and it really pokes fun at the GLB (maybe T at some point) community. We saw our old pal Peter Paige (from Queer as Folk) and more cool people, then it was time to hit the road. I was full of my regulation cosmopolitan martini and as much goat-cheese-and-crackers hors d’oeuvre as I could eat.

It all begins again tonight!
