PS, Kids: This Is the New Me. Get Into It!
Some of you may have noticed that my last few projects have been overly made-up, overtly sexual, gay-friendly and deeply connected to freak culture. A few trans prudes and squares certainly have!
To sum up a set of major life decisions in a quickie diary post, this is the new me, kids. Get into it!
The secret fact is that this is the old me, too. I’ve spent the last 10 years suppressing my lifelong irreverent sense of humor and hedonism for very good reason, and my record of activism stands on its own. But as I said, it’s been 10 years and I’m gonna let loose a little.
Freaks are beautiful to me. Makeup? Cake it up! Hair? Dyed, fried and laid to the side, please. Music? LOUD. Alcohol? Yes, please. Sexy sexy? HELL YES! It’s FUN to be sexy! It’s fun to act sexy when you’re actually ugly… because that makes you sexy!
So attention all community prudes, censors and TWAATS: You’re on notice. I’m going to continue to raise money for women’s, youth and GLBT causes, provide information and support online, counsel young people, and stand against haters. And I’m going to burn brightly while doing so, while fully and rightfully claiming both my trans history and my womanhood. If “they” don’t like the way I live my life, “they” can choke on it. Cal-pals, full steam ahead!

The criticism that you're receiving sounds very similar to the nonsense that was being said about the women in 'Ticked-Off Trannies With Knives' – questioning their presentation and realness. I think your original response in your 'you a man' posting should be read hand in hand with Kate Bornstein's response to the criticism of the women in TOTWK:
"Transgender does not equal only trans men and trans women who make themselves and their lives as close as they can to you. Transgender is a experience shared by countless people with a limitless number of gender expressions. Drag queens and drag kings are transgender people, family, tribe. It’s a tactic of power politics to divide and conquer. "
I'm a relatively new Cal-Pal, but it's been obvious from the begining to me that your roots are in performance. If someone missed that then they need to get off the train to Calperniaville. You bettah werque!

I feel it is wonderful you are finding yourself to be evolving as a person,I didn't understand that. Hopefully everyone evolves in their own way. Knowing this about you has helped me understand a lot. Thank You.

Right on Callie ! We stand with you , love you 110 % and you are soo not ugly – full steam ahead be yourself , embrace everything , all the aspects of your beautiful self cause honey you are sexxxy and you are smart and generous and like you say – your record stands on its own . so if you are catching flak from prudes. It is sooo their problem. What they fail to grasp is that they are not judged any less harshly by the haters. YOu do rawk dahling , and we stand with you , letting our own selves unfold too. You are Tee – riffic and a great Artiste !

You are who you are. Let no one else define you. We didn't all pop out of the same mold. We don't live the same experiences. Anyone who says that you should act this way or that are waaaaaay to full of themselves.
I've been told not to tag myself or my friends on facebook if the picture isn't flattering. Flattering? Hun I'm 55, the only thing flattering on me is my mind. And you know what? I like my looks, and I do care about those extra pounds. But I am not Peter to deny who I am and what I believe.
Live your life and be happy. It's your turn girl.
