Betty had a really hard life. She quit working for Irving Klaw and later married only to suffer from a mental illness that ended it. But there is a love story there that no one has explored. Years later a young cartoonist named Dave Stevens began a comic strip called Rocketeer. In it he drew Betty Page and he began to save money that he planned to give her when he found her. Yes , after all these years he planned to find her. He and others searched until a young reporter did finally connecting through her brother . Betty of course is much older but below her age tired voice you can hear the sweet southern belle she once was. She wanted it blacked out because she wanted everyone to remember her for who she was , not for the tragic life she ended up in. Dave Stevens and others set up a company for her , to carry her because after all so many had made money off her images without her ever receiving a dime. Not that she really cared . She occasionally goes to movies with Dave still at last word . Unknowingly she was a pioneer for women showing a sexuality that was filled with total innocence and charm . A little girl lost. I wish her a sweet life to the end.
