Second Soldier Faces Hearing In Fort Campbell Death

August 11, 1999 A second Fort Campbell soldier faces a military hearing this weekend to investigate his role in the beating death of Private Barry Winchell. A hearing against Private Calvin Glover who's charged with the murder ended Tuesday afternoon.

     25-year-old Specialist Justin Fisher is charged with participating in the murder. An army sergeant testified that Winchell was subjected to daily name-calling and harassment because it was rumored he was gay. Many of Private Winchell's family and friends say his murder was a hate crime, but the military jury has not decided if that was the case.
