Calpernia Reads “Twas the Night Before Christmas”
0Unironically! OMG with sincerity! Ha ha, although I never publicized it, I used to volunteer for a group that read to children every Saturday, and I very much enjoyed it. Recently, a new little boy has come into my life and I’ve enjoyed reading to him before he goes to sleep when I visit. This is inspired by those experiences. I know you may be expecting something sarcastic or sacrilegious (and I still love doing that, too!) but for this one, I’m reading it just like I would read it to that little boy on Christmas Eve.

Rosemary & Newell Alexander to Produce Live Christmas Show
0Rosemary Alexander
Cal-pal Rosemary Alexander (“Dr. Eve” in/on Sordid Lives) is producing a fun live Christmas show with her husband Newell Alexander (“Wardell”). It sounds GREAT, and who doesn’t love a homey old-fashioned Christmas show?
I’m producing 2 performances of an old-fashioned radio drama that Newell and I wrote which will benefit Aids Project Los Angeles. “Christmas In El Paso”, directed by Moosie Dryer, is a heartwarming nostalgic show that will light up your Holiday spirit!
It features an original music score written by George S. Clinton and performed by Doug Livingston & Steve Alterman and features live sound effects artist, Tony Palermo. Featured are Sordid Lives stars Jason Dottley (Ty), David Cowgill (Odell) & Mitch Carter (Bumper) along with a brilliant cast including Bridget Hoffman, Jackie Gonneau, Rif Hutton, Kerry Gutierrez, Richard Miro, Peter Renaday, Paul Pape, Elisa Gabrielli, Marcelo Tubert, Tony O’Dell and Lia Sargent.
These shows will benefit APLA, specifically to provide Holiday meals for low income HIV-positive people throughout Los Angeles. Suggested donations are $25, $50, $75 & $100.
2 shows: Saturday December 12th at 3pm & Sunday December 13th at 3pm at The Lost Studio, 130 S. La Brea, between 1st & 2nd.
For reservations, call 800-838-3006 or www.brownpapertickets.com.
For more information 310-440-0221.
If you can’t attend one of the performances, consider making a donation to APLA. Call 310-440-0221 for an address where you may mail your donation.
Thank you and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
Sincerely, Rosemary Alexander
