* A few months ago, I had a time period where I went back and forth from LA to New York four times in four weeks. That is a long flight, much less to make eight times in one month! But the last trip out there was with Andrea, because she and I were asked to come and be photographed for a book of images and essays called “Vagina Warriors”. Eve Ensler wanted to have a big coffee-table book of women who were involved in the fight to stop violence against women and girls, shot by Joyce Tenneson (previously noted for some amazing portraits of exotic flowers). * It was a rushed affair, going from the long flight into a grubby New York cab to Joyce’s studio. We had just enough time to do our shoot, wander the city a little, and then it was back on a plane to LA. We were both exhausted but thrilled to be include. * The book is now about to be released, which is terribly exciting. I have no idea if our portrait made it into the book, as there is usually some editing involved in such things, but since we were invited personally to come to NYC, I would be surprised if we were cut. The book will feature lovely photographs on one page and writing on the opposite page. * I’ll keep you updated! |
